The shell is Arctic Tech, a tightly woven poly-cotton blend treated with a DWR finish, filled with 625-fill-power white duck down in a baffle construction that eliminates cold spots. The coyote fur ruff around the hood is not decorative — it breaks wind across the face and prevents frostbite in extreme conditions.

The Expedition is rated to minus 30 Celsius and has been validated in polar, alpine, and arctic field conditions for decades. Canada Goose offers a lifetime warranty that covers manufacturing defects for the life of the product and operates a repair program for damage, zipper replacement, and down replenishment.

The construction uses heavy-gauge YKK zippers, reinforced elbows, and fleece-lined pockets. At approximately $1,400, this is an expensive coat — but for anyone living in genuinely cold climates, the math works across a 15-20 year ownership window.

That puts the annual cost around $80, compared to replacing a $300 parka every three to four years. The Expedition Parka is not for mild winters.

It exists for conditions where outerwear is survival equipment.
