The Nubuck leather upper is lined with a Gore-Tex membrane for waterproof breathability, and the Monowrap frame construction wraps the midsole around the foot for lateral stability without the weight penalty of a full-shank design. The Vibram EVO outsole provides traction across rock, mud, and trail surfaces.
What earns the Renegade its BIFL standing is Lowa's resoling program — any authorized dealer can send worn boots back to Lowa for a factory resole at roughly $100, returning them in near-original condition. The PU midsole and Vibram outsole are both replaceable, and Lowa stocks parts for all current models.
At roughly $230, the boot pays for itself after one resole compared to replacing cheaper boots every three to four years. Lowa offers a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, and their Bavarian factory maintains quality control standards that mass-produced boots cannot match.
