The Semi-Dress is their dress-up take on the work boot platform — built on the same arch-ease last and hand-lasted construction methods used for their smoke jumper and forestry boots, but finished in a sleeker profile suitable for town wear. Each pair is constructed using a genuine hand-sewn welt and leather midsole, with the upper stitched through the insole and outsole in a process that takes roughly eight hours per pair.
The Chromexcel leather upper from Horween develops rich patina over years of wear. The most critical feature is complete rebuilability — White's offers full factory rebuilds including new soles, heels, welts, and heel counters, restoring boots to near-new condition for a fraction of the original price.
Multiple rebuilds are possible over a 20 to 30 year lifespan. At approximately $530, the initial cost is significant, but amortized over three decades of wear with periodic resoling, the annual cost drops below $20.
White's Semi-Dress boots are built the way every boot should be built — to be repaired, not replaced.
