The Angler Moc is built in Maine workshops by craftspeople who have been hand-stitching moccasin construction for decades. Each shoe uses a single piece of vegetable-tanned leather for the vamp, hand-stitched to a leather midsole and finished with a Vibram Christy crepe outsole that can be replaced when worn.

The construction method — genuine handsewn, not merely hand-lasted — means every stitch is a structural element that shares load with its neighbors, producing a shoe that flexes naturally with the foot and distributes stress evenly across the upper. Yuketen sources leather from premier American and Japanese tanneries, selecting hides for grain consistency and character rather than uniformity.

At roughly $450, the Angler Moc is priced at the high end of handsewn footwear, but the quality of materials and construction justifies the number. The Vibram outsole lasts 3 to 5 years of regular wear, and resoling extends the shoe's life by another cycle each time.

Owners report the leather conforming to their feet within weeks, creating a custom-like fit that improves with every wearing.
