Designed and manufactured in Boise, Idaho since 1987, each Sebenza is machined from solid 6AL4V titanium handles and fitted with a CPM S45VN stainless steel blade that holds an edge through months of daily use. The integral frame lock design uses a single titanium liner as the locking mechanism, eliminating the weak springs and pivot pins that cause cheaper knives to develop blade play over time.
Every Sebenza ships with a birthdate card and can be returned to Chris Reeve Knives for a complete factory spa treatment — disassembly, cleaning, resharpening, and reassembly with new hardware — for a nominal fee. This repair program is virtually unmatched in the knife industry.
The action is smooth, the lockup is solid, and the tolerances are surgical. At approximately $475, the Sebenza commands a premium, but owners who carry one daily for a decade understand that the cost-per-year of $47 is less than replacing a $40 knife annually.
The Sebenza does not depreciate — used examples frequently sell for near retail price. This is what a lifetime knife looks like.
