The Rangeman is built around Casio's Triple Sensor technology — a compass, altimeter/barometer, and thermometer — housed in a shock-resistant resin case with Tough Solar power and Multi-Band 6 atomic timekeeping that syncs to atomic clock signals from six transmitters worldwide. The watch never needs a battery change and never needs time adjustment.
G-Shock's shock resistance is not marketing: the ISO 22810 water resistance to 200 meters and the carbon fiber insert band are engineered for abuse that would reduce a mechanical watch to parts. At roughly $250, the Rangeman is a fraction of the cost of comparable tool watches from Swiss manufacturers, and its solar power system eliminates battery replacement costs entirely.
Casio offers a 1-year warranty, but G-Shock owners routinely report ten to fifteen years of continuous wear with zero maintenance. The only consumable component is the resin band, which Casio sells for under $25.
This is the watch that works when nothing else does.
