The body layers 210- and 420-denier high-density nylon over a 630-denier double-layer base — the panel that fails first on lesser packs — around an alloy perimeter frame, a fiberglass cross-stay, and the FreeFloat A3 suspension, which lets the harness rotate with each stride so a loaded pack tracks the body instead of fighting it. Gregory's limited lifetime warranty covers defects for as long as the pack is owned, and the Salt Lake City repair program handles the Baltoro's one documented weakness — zipper wear — free of charge, years into ownership.
At roughly $370, it costs more than a big-box pack that cracks its frame in three seasons; over the ten to fifteen years a Baltoro routinely logs, the expensive pack is the cheap one. It belongs here for the same reason the 75 does.
