Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-600M II Bookshelf Speakers (Pair)
ELITE tier
Klipsch has been designing and engineering horn-loaded speakers in Indianapolis since 1946, and the durability case for the RP-600M II rests less on the speaker itself than on the company's parts ecosystem.
Origin
Made in China
Warranty
5-year limited warranty on the passive speaker to the original retail purchaser, covering parts and labor for defects in materials and workmanship; non-transferable and terminates on resale. Warranty override applied: a fully passive design paired with the audio industry's deepest third-party parts-and-repair ecosystem -- diaphragms, drivers, surrounds, recone kits, and crossover components are all stocked and replaceable -- plus a multi-decade Klipsch service lineage, consistent with the site's treatment of proven-BIFL items whose warranty term understates real serviceable lifespan.
Price
~$699 (Premium)

Klipsch Heritage models from the 1970s are still in daily service and still being restored, because diaphragms, woofers, surrounds, recone kits, and crossover components remain stocked by a deep network of specialists -- Simply Speakers, Midwest Speaker Repair, The Speaker Exchange. Replacing a tweeter diaphragm is a documented afternoon job.
The RP-600M II is fully passive: a spun-copper Cerametallic woofer and a titanium LTS tweeter on a 90-degree Tractrix horn, in a braced MDF cabinet, with no amplifier, DSP, or battery to obsolete. Its 96 dB sensitivity means it barely taxes an amplifier, and the ownership record shows no recurring hardware failure mode.
The warranty runs five years to the original owner. At around $699 a pair, this is a speaker whose every wear part can be bought and replaced for decades -- the strongest repairability profile of any audio product on this list.
