The FC980M PD packs a full number pad into a compact 1800-layout footprint, and every part is built to outlast the computer it plugs into. The doubleshot PBT keycaps carry their legends in a second molded layer of plastic, so they cannot fade or wear off no matter how many million keystrokes land on them.

A steel plate anchors genuine Cherry MX switches, rated between 50 and 100 million actuations each, inside a dense case that does not flex or ping. One decade-long owner reports daily heavy use with zero hardware failures.

The warranty is a modest one year, but the board is built to make it irrelevant: keycaps pull off with the included tool, and any Cherry MX switch is a commodity repair. At roughly $178 spread across twenty-plus years, the cost lands under nine dollars a year, less than a single membrane board replaced every third year.

Leopold builds keyboards that retire when their owners do.
