The AC212VS is the current incarnation of that century-old design: a 12-inch chrome-plated, heat-treated forged alloy steel wrench with a 1-1/2 inch jaw capacity. The hex jaw geometry grips fastener flats rather than corners, and the wide knurl turns smoothly under thumb pressure even when the jaws are loaded against a stuck nut.
Crescent's NO B. S.
lifetime warranty replaces the tool for any failure — no receipt, no registration, no time limit. Manufacturing migrated after the Apex Tool Group acquisition, and most retail-channel AC212VS units now ship from China rather than the Sumter, South Carolina lines that still produce Crescent's industrial-channel wrenches.
The retail unit remains a reasonable choice for occasional home use at roughly $25, and the warranty does what it says. This is not the heirloom-grade Crescent of the 1950s, but it is an adjustable wrench that will outlast a dozen no-name competitors at the same price point and ship a free replacement if it ever fails.
