Each chisel is forged from a single piece of steel with an I-beam profile running the full length of the handle beneath a replaceable nylon strike cap, eliminating the tang-failure mode that ends most production chisels. The 25 degree edge geometry is ground for the working balance between sharpness and impact resistance that a framer needs at the second fix, and the blade can be reground down to nearly its full length, putting realistic lifespan in the 20-to-30-year range with reasonable care.
Two hardening zones keep the edge hard while letting the body absorb mallet strikes without chipping. The four-piece set covers 10, 20, 25, and 32mm with ventilated holsters that drain moisture before it can rust the steel.
