The 3-horsepower motor drives a 10-inch blade through hardwood with the authority of saws costing twice as much, but the defining feature is the brake cartridge: it detects skin contact and stops the blade in under 5 milliseconds, retracting it below the table surface before a cut can deepen beyond a scratch.
